Papertrey Ink's Sunshine Impression Plate was the perfect tool for this card. My Favorite Things (MFT) Girl Scout stamp set is a new release from the Pure Innocence line. I bought two sets...one for me and one for my mom. She has been in girl scouting for years...as a leader, cookie mom, service unit coordinator, and more. Won't she be surprised to see this little cutie next weekend? I love finding that perfect gift.

P.S....I am so excited because my copic skills are improving! Love the blended shadows I was able to achieve! Just goes to show...practice...practice...practice...don't give up!

Ribbon Storage...

 
How do you store your stash of Papertrey ribbon? I use the nugget tins because I get a lot of ribbon in a small space. The ribbon stays "unwrinkled" and I don't have a tangled mess to untie. I also like the clean look of the stacked tins next to the coordinating button jars. Leftover pieces of ribbon are tossed into a color-family glass jar. So far, this system is working for me.

Make it Monday Challenge for Papertrey Ink

Not only am I trying out new techniques...I am actually using embellishments I've been "storing" for years. This card also gives you a peek at one of the new things I've been doing. I ordered the Project Life journaling cards (plain grid) and have been using PTI stamps to create my own cards for my PL pages.  Back to playing with impression plate possibilities...

A New Little Someone...

 
This is one of those cards that starts out as one idea and grows into something else. I've been experimenting with the Button Card stamps/dies and wanted to use a Button Bits stamp set as well. I'm also on this teddy bear kick...more about that another day...and I've been distressing all week because of the PTI Make It Monday challenge. Long story short...this card is one of those that I will revisit and play with...until I get it "just right." It's got something...it's just not quite right, yet.

The Make It Monday challenge from Papertrey Ink was to distress the edges. I just can't stop inking up this adorable teddy bear from Baby Button Bits. The heart image is from Love Songs.

Today I chose distressed dots paper in four colors for this card. Too much fun! 

Now all I need is a stamp set with quotes from The Velveteen Rabbit about "being real" and "being loved" for the inside of these cards. Hmmm...may just have to work some computer magic for the inside sentiments. Gotta go grab some linen vellum to finish off the inside of this card...

One of my favorite books is the Velveteen Rabbit, the inspiration for this card. The distressed teddy bear is well-loved! The distressing technique in this week's Papertrey Ink challenge was the perfect way to make this card.

Love Lives Here is a beautiful stamp set. I am so glad this one jumped into my shopping cart. While playing with my distress inks and new Bo Bunny pattern papers, I inked up some tags and the amazing images and sentiments from Love Lives Here.

Bridal Shower Favor Box

 

After I used an umbrella image from PTI's Scattered Showers stamp set for the bridal shower invitations, I started thinking about party favors. I remembered the Timeless Template called Pretty Petal Pocket and how it was used to make an umbrella box. I played around with different ideas and finally decided to adapt the template to more closely resemble an umbrella. Here's the result! This little favor is filled with mini soaps and shampoos from Bath and Body...just the thing for our "Pamper the Bride-to-Be" party.

My soon-to-be-sister-in-law loves pink and her favorite PTI color is Raspberry Fizz. Won't she be surprised to see these little boxes next week? I am making a larger one filled with goodies just for her!

 
 

Here's a side view and the Pretty Petal Pocket template that started it all...

And if you're curious about the invite, here's the only one I have left after mailing them off today: (it's the badly stamped-not-quite-to-my-standards one that didn't get sent)...but you get the idea. I used the impression plate on the shimmer white cardstock, stamped, paper pieced and pop-dotted the umbrella, and them used vellum for the inside info.

Now it's time to clean the craft table!
